Point to Point Video Not Working – Cisco Unified Personnel Communicator

July 18, 2011 By Damitha Anuradha Leave a Comment

While I am working with Cisco Unified Personnel Communicator project one day I wasn’t be able to access point to point video conferencing. The entire configuration from CUCM and CUP side is fine. But unfortunately video part is not working. My first guess was it is misconfiguration with Cisco. But It was not like that. Then I tried to work out the problem with CUPC client. There was a good tool which we can check connectivity in between CUCP and Cisco Unified Presence.

Please note: – CUCP is Cisco unified Personnel Communicator. The tool is Server Health Analyzer. I will write another post regarding that later. After that I checked RX/TX data with Call Statistics analyzer. I found that peer to peer video data not sending over the CUCP client.

The problem was very basic issue. When we selected Video with Best quality through CUCP if CUCP web cam is not capable to work with Best Quality It is not allows sending video over to the other point. So that we have to Set Our video Quality to lower.

To do this on CUPC Client go to the File -> Options -> Video -> Set Bandwidth Slider to Lower and then check Optimize video quality for your computer. After that video transmitted fine.
